Fall Entries Up More Than 100%!
Registrations for Fall weekend baseball events in 2018 at the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex more than DOUBLED from the previous autumn, as the facility hosted 204 teams for tournaments. In 2017, Fall events in baseball recorded 100 total entries.
Coupled with the 230 teams that have already played softball on various nights and weekends at the Sportsplex since the last week of August, the facility’s team total stands at 434 for the autumn season; for the same time period in 2017, that number was at the 240 mark.
The Sportsplex staff greatly appreciates all the teams, coaches, and supporters who have made the Fall of 2018 so memorable. The final Fall baseball event, a re-run of the previously rained-out Sportsplex Fall Championships, drew a facility record 75 participants. No Fall tournament in the history of the Sportsplex had ever drawn more, and the players were grinning from ear-to-ear when they received their championship rings.
Our tentative 2019 schedule is now posted on this website, and we look to continue the Fall momentum into the return of baseball and softball in March. Until then, our facility will be part of the Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland spectacle hosted by the Jackson Generals from November 16 through January 6. Come out to enjoy the fun on I-40’s Exit 85!
